星期一，Jan 在台大交誼廳聽著 iPod，過了一個悠閒的下午。他是德國人，” Jan ”是他的德國名字。已經來台灣四個月的他，目前在台大語言中心學中文。
在台灣，上大學是很常見的，不過在國外卻不是這樣。Jan 在德國高中畢業後就來台灣學中文，他打算一年後到美國繼續深造。他喜歡寫程式，也曾經寫過 iPhone Apps，他說他平常用 Mac 除了玩遊戲，也會用 Xcode 寫程式。
蚊：
You bought your Mac in Germany? Why did you want to buy it?
你在德國買 Mac 的？當時為什麼會想買 Mac？
Jan：
I bought my MacBook two years ago, but I bought the keyboard in America. Keyboards are not the same. For example, the “y” its very common in English, but not in Germany, so they switch it with other word.
Mac looks great, and I like its interface. I used to play games in my high school. I think the audio is very good.
No one convinced me to buy Mac, but I recommended it to friends.
我兩年前買 MacBook，不過我在美國買鍵盤。美國跟德國賣的鍵盤不同，像是 y 在英文中很常見，但德文很少用到，所以它把美式鍵盤的 y 換成其他字。
Mac 很好看，我喜歡它的界面。高中時，我都用它打電動，我覺得它的音效也不錯！
那時後，沒人說服我買 Mac，是我去說服別人。

Oh! Why did you recommend Mac to friends?
哦？你為什麼會想推薦朋友買 Mac？
Jan：
Well, my friends asked me that they want to buy a laptop, what should they get. I told them Mac is good. I recommended Mac not only because it looks great on the outside, but it also looks great on the inside, and it’s easier to use. If you compare Android and iOS, it is just feel better, you know, the surface, the response… and it’s the same with iPod.
I tried to convince my father to buy a Mac, but he still uses his IBM. My father felt too much trouble to switch operation system; however, my mother use Mac. She likes iPhoto and iMovie.
嗯，我朋友跟我說他們想買筆記型電腦，問我該買哪個牌子？我就跟他們說 Mac 很好用。我推薦 Mac 不只是因為它外表很漂亮，也是因為裡面很好看（界面），而且用起來很簡單。如果比較 Android 和 iOS 兩個作業系統，iOS 就是比較好，包括界面、反應速度…我用 iPod 也是一樣的原因。
我想說服我爸也買台 Mac，不過他懶得換作業系統，他還是用他的 IBM；而我媽跟我一樣用 Mac，她喜歡 iPhoto 和 iMovie。

What you do with your Mac?
你用 Mac 都在做什麼呢？
Jan：
I use Safari, and chatting with friends…
I also use Xcode to write program, but not any more for iPhone. I can show you sometime, something I wrote now.
用 Safari 上網、或是聊天…
我也用 Xcode 寫軟體，不過現在沒在寫 iPhone 應用程式了。改天我可以給你看我現在寫的程式。

Jan, you said that you didn’t compare any other MP3 player with ipod. Why did you bought iPod without hesitation at that time?
Jan，你說你買 MP3 時，沒比較其他牌子，為什麼你會毫不猶豫的買 iPod？
Jan：
Mmmm….I am a Mac user. I am satisfied with Mac, so when I need a MP3 player, I just think about Apple’s product.
嗯….我已經在用 Mac，我很喜歡 Mac，所以要買 MP3 時，我就先想到蘋果的產品了。
蚊：
What you always do with your iPod?
那你平常用 iPod 做什麼呢？
Jan：
The alarm! To wake me in the morning. (Jan showed me his alarm.) It’s definitely the one that I use the most! (haha…)
鬧鐘阿！每天要叫我起床（Jan 打開他的鬧鐘），這當然是我每天一定會用到的功能（笑）。
蚊：
Wow! 6:30? You get up so early! What else?
哇！六點半？你都這麼早起哦？還有呢？
Jan：
Well, I play games and listen to music. I use notes all the time to write something down. I haven’t tried iBook, but I listen to audio books in my free time. Something I downloaded recently are some of the WWDC session videos.（http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/）
More often, I use my iPod as a study tool. I study Chinese and English with my iPod. I have a dictionary program, so that I can look up words whenever I want, but if you want it to read the character, you have to connect to network.
This program is good but not free. I am sure there are free programes, but I don’t think they are good.
Do you use this keyboard? If you go on special character, you can get smiley, but I don’t even know what they mean. We use easy smiley, like this…(pointing to “ ^＿^ ”), but what is it ( He pointed to “ ^_^a “)? My friend told me it means embarrassment.
玩遊戲和聽音樂，我常常用備忘錄記事情。我還沒試過 iBook，但是有空時，我都會聽有聲書。最近我比較常聽的是蘋果全球開發者大會的影片。
我更常用 iPod 學中文跟英文。我有個字典軟體，所以隨時隨地可以拿出來查，只是必須要有網路才能聽到中文發音。
這個軟體很好用，但不是免費的，我相信有免費的，但是我覺得免費的軟體不好用。
你用過它們的鍵盤嗎？如果你點開特別字母，你會看到表情符號，可是我都不知道它們代表什麼耶！我們會用這個（指著 ^＿^ ），但是這是什麼？（指著 ^_^a ）我朋友說那是很尷尬的表情。

You have to use your imagination. (haha…) I’m curious if many foreigners use Apple’s products. More than Taiwanese do?
你要用想像力阿，哈哈…我很好奇很多外國人用蘋果產品嗎？比台灣人多？
Jan：
Yes, but not many students use Mac because it’s a bit expensive. However, my friends all have Mac, say, two in seven, maybe.
是阿，但學生很少用 Mac，因為太貴了。不過我朋友很多人用，可能… 2/7 的朋友在用吧？！
